Traditions is expanding its signature Vortek StrikerFire line, with the addition of the new Backcountry model.
The Vortek StrikerFire Backcountry features a 26" Chromoly barrel, which the company choose specifically to decrease weight and increase maneuverability. All told, the Backcountry weighs 5.8 pounds. The compact barrel length also makes it ideal for smaller-framed shooters.
All told, the Backcountry sports the same features as Traditions' other Vortek StrikerFire rifles, notably the patented StrikerFire system itself—there's no external hammer. The Backcountry has a TAC2 Trigger system with a trigger set at two pounds, Hogue Comfort-Grip Overmolding, Accelerator Breech Plug and Dual Safety System, among other standard features. It comes with a Nitride Finish, which coats both the outside and inside of the barrel.
The Vortek StrikerFire Backcountry is expected to retail between $556-$640.
