On this week's #SundayGunday, we’re shooting a neat looking two-tone variant of the TriStar Arms KR.22. While this one is finished in OD Green and black, you can find this exact same gun in FDE and black, or opt for the standard version in just black synthetic.

At its core, the KR.22 is a blow-back-operated semi-automatic rimfire chambered for .22 Long Rifle. Shipping with two, 10 round 10/22-pattern rotary magazines, this is more than just a fun plinker; it’s also a great option for squirrel hunters looking for fast follow-up shots on their tree-jumping quarry. The KR.22’s 18.6-inch barrel is threaded to 1/2x28 TPI for the easy addition of a suppressor, which is quickly becoming a favorite accessory of squirrel hunters looking to not blow out the woods every time they take a bushytail. While the ejection port is permanently on the righthand side, the bolt handle is reversible for fully ambidextrous operation. Atop the receiver, a stretch of Picatinny rail is integrated for the easy mounting of an optic. This pairs well with the gun’s adjustable comb, allowing hunters to get the perfect cheek weld for fast snap shots, no matter what height scope is used. If you prefer not to mount a scope or red-dot, however, the gun does come with a fixed fiber-optic front sight, and a two-dot rear sight integrated into the Picatinny rail, so it is ready to sight in and hunt right out of the box.
For safeties, the KR.22 sports two—a traditional push-button safety, and a blade style trigger safety that must be pulled into the trigger to allow the gun to fire. The stock boasts nice texturing on the grip and fore-end for solid purchase, sling swivel studs fore and aft, and a skeletonized buttstock which decreases weight, and honestly just looks cool. At just 4.9 pounds, this is a gun you’ll be able to tote through the woods all day without breaking a sweat, and that will find your shoulder with rapidity when a squirrel shows itself.

For more information on the KR.22, which retails for between $289 and $309 dollars, depending on if you get basic black or go with the nifty looking two tone, visit TriStararms.com.
