On this week's #SundayGunday, we’re checking out some exciting new introductions from Spartan Precision Equipment. Spartan Precision has revolutionized lightweight stability in the field with its MagnaSwitch attachment system. Simply attach an adapter to your rifle—available for M-Lok, Arca-Swiss, Picatinny and sling swivel stud interfaces, as well as a standalone install—and you can effortlessly swap between an array of bipods, tripods and quad sticks, while maintaining a fully unencumbered rifle for offhand shots.

Spartan Javelin Lite and Javelin Lite TL

The company's latest two offerings—both bipods utilizing the aforementioned system—will appeal to hunters looking for the absolute lightest weight accessories: the Javelin Lite, and Javelin Lite TL. Let’s start with the Javelin Lite. At just 5.3 ounces, this is far and away the lightest offering in the line. It accomplishes this by eschewing adjustable legs in favor of fixed-length carbon fiber variants, tipped with steel, covered by rubber boots. Despite this, the legs do still fold flat, allowing a hunter to easily slip the bipod into a pocket when not in use. Further still, the bipod maintains 30 degrees of traverse and 15 degrees of cant adjustment from its hard-anodized 7075 aluminum housing. Overall, both its footprint and height stretch 8.7 inches, and it retails for just $100 without an adapter.

Folded Spartan Javelin Lite

Next up is the Javelin Lite TL, for those who want a touch more adjustment. The TL in its name stands for its “Twist Lock” extendable legs, aside from which it is identical to the Lite in virtually every way. While those adjustable legs do bump the weight up to 6.3 ounces, they allow the bipod to extend its height to between 7 ¼- and 9 ½-inches. Cant remains the same at 15-degrees, traverse at 30 degrees, and it also folds flat for easier packability via the same 7075 hard-anodized aluminum housing. Its footprint spreads 7 inches, and the bipod retails for $170 without an adapter. Also to note, both models legs are screw in, meaning they can be interchanged between units.

Recipe: Deep-Rooted Venison Stew

Several friends and I often circle back to the same campfire debate about which wild game makes the best stew. Mule deer usually leads the pack, with moose close behind, but any well-handled game meat can stand out when you build the right layers of flavor. The real magic starts long before the broth simmers. It comes from the vegetables and mushrooms you choose.
