Magpul Hunter Lite Stock

Mapul Hunter Lite Rifle Stock for Model 700 Short-Action

The Magpul Hunter Lite stock is purpose-built for hunting and now designed for a Model 700 short-action footprint. The new version is lighter, only 2.4 pounds, and slimmer, almost 24 percent narrower than previous versions.

The Hunter Lite 700 short-action stock is convertible to right- or left-handed operation by swapping included inserts. Receiver support is provided by an extruded aluminum V-bedding block and reinforced steel pillars to enhance accuracy. Four removable, half-inch buttstock spaces allow length of pull to be adjusted from 13-15 inches. A snap-on, 3/8-inch cheek riser allows a customizable fit behind a riflescope. Sling swivel studs and M-LOK slots on the fore-end are standard. Other features include an ambidextrous magazine release paddle and stamped steel mag over-insertion stops; and an enlarged trigger guard to enhance use with gloves. The stock is compatible with barrel profiles up to and including medium Palma. MSRP is $219.95 for this made-in-America drop-in stock.

Magpul QD Bipod

MOE QD Bipod for M-LOK

Magpul has offered many bipods for several years but their new MOE QD is probably the simplest to attach because it attaches/detaches quickly to any rifle with an M-LOK handguard or fore-end. It spans from 7-10 inches in half-inch increments, boasts a meager 1.7-inch stack height and weighs only 9 ounces. MSRP is $79.95.

TMAG 20

TMAG 20

TMAGS have been popular for some time because they’re made of reliable, translucent polymer with an olive drab hue that makes it easy to visibly verify round count without removing a magazine. They feature ribbed front/rear straps for improved purchase, and the sides are left smooth. New 20-round TMAGS are great for hunters because they are shorter, creating more workspace beneath a rifle, making it easier to use an AR in shooting sticks or while lying prone. MSRP is $23.95.

DAKA Universal Grid Organizer

DAKA Universal Grid Organizer

The company’s precision-fit DAKA Grid Organizers are extremely popular, and they’re made for many gun and equipment cases on the market today—but Magpul can’t make one for every case out there. Enter the DAKA Grid Universal Organizer, a new and simple way to bring DAKA organization to your kit.

The expanded polypropylene material in its block-and-panel design provides unlimited versatility because it’s a fully customizable, cut-to-fit solution. Installation is easy following pre-marked guidelines on the underside of the Grid panels. Serrated undersides of the panels allow for channeling and securing included DAKA Gear Straps to secure gear inside your case. The EPP material does not absorb moisture or contaminants like open cell foam. The Universal Kit comes with eight panels providing more than 958 square inches of usable space before any cutting occurs.

Member's Hunt: Patience is Tough When You Shoot a Big Buck

My phone still in my hands, I texted my teenage son, who was hunting along the field not far away. Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum

Norma’s ballistician Nils Kvale saw the wisdom of having the velocity and horsepower of the .300 H&H Magnum, but in a shorter, more affordable receiver, and used the H&H case to develop his .358 Norma Magnum in 1959 as well as the .308 Norma Magnum one year later. The .308 Norma Magnum closely resembles the wildcat .30-338 cartridge, though the shoulder of the former is located a bit more toward the base than that of the .308 Norma Magnum. Intrigued?
