Easton 5 LEDE

Though I test piles of different arrows, my quiver has been Easton-only for the past 10 years.

Why?

I expect every shot from the range to the field to hit where my pin is floating when my release breaks. Easton does nothing standard, and its micro-diameter arrows reduce side-to-side wind drift, boost on-impact energy, and create less friction as they pass through an animal.

This past season, I let six arrows loose on breathing creatures. Six cleanly harvested animals resulted from those shots. I don't tell you this to brag; I tell you this because if you put your 2025 arrow faith in a shaft like Easton's new 5.0, you'll fill the freezer.

Easton 5.0 in Deer Target

For the past couple of years, Easton has offered Match Grade and Standard offerings in its flagship arrows, and the story is the same with the new 5.0s. The difference is that the Match Grade shafts have a .001-inch straightness rating, and the Standard shafts have a .003-inch straightness rating. The Match Grade shafts also come with HIT Collars to increase FOC.

One of my biggest takeaways when testing these arrows was the improved Microlite 5MM nocks. These new nocks are one of the major selling points of the 5.0. The compact design combined with the improved throat design means a precise string fit, which leads to precise arrow-from-string separation. The compact design works in concert with the 5.0s already streamlined design to reduce wind drift and boost downrange performance.

Easton 5.0 Grouping

Another 5.0 win bowhunters and archers will cheer is the arrows' customizable nature. Make no mistake, the 5.0 is the latest from Easton in terms of an fps booster. However, with multiple insert options like the HIT or new 50-grain steel one-piece Half-out, you can quickly turn your lightweight shaft into a fast-flying, hard-hitting middleweight. Using both insert options, I built two arrows, one ultra-light 361.1-grain arrow and one light but not too light 381-grain arrow. Accuracy and speed were supreme.

Available in spine sizes of 200, 250, 300, 340, 400, and 500, Easton's all-new 5.0 gives bowhunters options. The micro-diameter 5mm Acu-Carbon platform boosts downrange performance and penetration. Easton Match Grade and Standard 5.0s are available in bare, fletched with 2-inch Blazers or 3-inch AAE Hybrid Stealth options. $129.99 gets you a six-pack of fletched arrows.
