undefinedThe aisles are packed at the NRA Annual Meetings in Indy where there are more NRA members than I can count! Many of the people in the mix, of course, are women—thousands of them—all checking out the latest guns and gear. That's no surprise considering women represent the fastest-growing segment of the hunting world.

As I passed the Savage booth, I saw a couple ladies checking out the Savage Lady Hunter, which the company worked on for 15 months—from the stock to the grip to the comb to the cheek weld—to ensure it fit a woman's typically smaller physique. My friend Bill Dermody from Savage's marketing department and I talked about how Savage is working hard to answer the call and customize guns for the various niches in the shooting sports and hunting realm. In addition to the Lady Hunter and predator guns, for example, I saw more than a few kids checking out Savage's Rascal Series of .22-caliber youth guns. From aisle to aisle, companies like Savage are clearly doing their part to address the needs of all shooters and hunters to help even more people enjoy our American shooting and hunting tradition.
