Mauser Model 12

Mauser Model 12

European countries have a long history of making very fine (and very expensive) hunting rifles. But how about a new one from Mauser that, with a synthetic stock, costs less than $1,500? That's what American Hunter contributor John Barsness found in the Mauser Model 12, a rifle he reports shows plenty of German craftsmanship but "was designed specifically for the American market."

How does Mauser cater to American hunters with the Model 12? Take a look at its other appealing qualities and find out how it performed on the range in the "Hardware" department of the March print edition.
