We don't know whether the "Black Reaper" finish on the Weatherby X PA-08 shotgun shown below will help stand down a burglar or not, but hey, it can't hurt. Essentially, to create the Weatherby X line of guns, the company took several of its best-selling firearms and slapped on edgy, attention-grabbing, dipped finishes. The line is equally represented by home defense and hunting firearms, and also includes several youth models.
The rifles are all built on the Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 platform, while shotguns are built on the PA-08 (standard stock pump), PA-459 (pistol-grip pump), and SA-08 (semi-auto) platforms. A variety of sizes, finishes and calibers are available for the Weatherby X rifles; pump-action shotguns are available in 12- or 20-gauge with an 18 1/2-inch barrel, and a 20-gauge semi-auto youth version is available with a 24-inch barrel.
