Ever since its recent rebranding, Franchi has offered a variety of over/under shotguns with classic lines, great fit and finish, and excellent ergonomics. The new Aspire, a lovely round-action shotgun available in 28-gauge or .410, is no exception.

At 5.8 pounds, it's a light, wispy little gun that—as indicated by our initial show floor inspection—seems to defy its weight with solid handling. The round-action helps achieve this light weight by shaving required materials, but most of all it simply furthers the gun's aesthetics. The action is additionally color case-hardened and complemented nicely by an oiled, European walnut stock. In short, we think it's a great looking gun.

Other design specs include a ventilated rib, Prince of Wales stock, beavertail fore-end, mechanical triggers and an automatic safety. Both available bore sizes sport 28-inch barrels and five chokes.

Suggested retail price is $2,300.
