Get a closer look at the Kimber Mountain Ascent, the latest addition to our #SundayGunday series.

Lightweight and accurate, the Mountain Ascent rifle from Kimber features a Kevlar-reinforced carbon fiber stock for added durability. With a barreled action finished in Shade Gray KimPro II, the Mountain Ascent rifle has a fluted barrel and bolt which cuts unnecessary weight, and a muzzle brake with cap that helps reduce felt recoil.

It doesn’t matter what you're doing, if you're doing it in the mountains then “weight” will probably have an influence on your success or failure. This includes your deer rifle.

NRA E-Media's Tom Rickwalder captured these images while he and American Hunter Editor-in-Chief Scott Olmsted hunted game in Africa's Caprivi Strip. From crocs and wildebeest to hippos and elephants, the Kimber Caprivi and Mountain Ascent have helped to get the job done.

The numbers are not in yet, but I’ll be surprised if this show does not set an attendance record. Wading through the sea of gunning humanity has been a challenge; nonetheless I have found a few more nuggets that tripped my trigger.
