Alert: Bear sighting at SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nev.! Oh, whew. Not that kind of bear.

According to the Daily Caller, the Center for Consumer Freedom published a Virginia report tallying the number of dogs and cats killed by the “animal lovers” at PETA last year. According to the report, when PETA folks weren’t getting naked in public places and throwing red paint on fur coat owners, they killed a bumper crop of animals.

Many of you will be hunting black bear this spring, some with a bow for the first time. One question I am asked a lot about bowhunting bears is, “How much kinetic energy (K.E.) do I really need to kill a black bear?

If you want to shoot a whopper deer, elk or bear, you have to be hunting in an area where such critters exist. Seems like a simple concept, doesn’t it? And yet most hunters do not take the time to do the research necessary to tell them where the odds are best at scoring big.
