On July 15, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the district court’s denial of a preliminary injunction in Delaware State Sportsmen’s Association v. Delaware Department of Safety & Homeland Security, NRA-ILA’s lawsuit challenging Delaware’s ban on “assault weapons” and magazines that hold more than 17 rounds.

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc., has pledged to donate $2 to the National Rifle Association for each new Ruger firearm sold between the 2015 and 2016 NRA Annual Meetings. The company has its sights set on reaching a goal of $4 million in donations, all of which are to benefit the NRA Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA).

About this time last year, Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc., pledged to donate $2 to the National Rifle Association for each new Ruger firearm sold between the 2015 and 2016 NRA Annual Meetings. Ruger delivered on its promise, and donated some $4 million to NRA earlier this year, in Louisville. The success has inspired the company to raise the bar a peg and extend the promotion—enter the "2.5 Million Gun Challenge."

Hunters in Indiana and Kansas scored landslide victories during the 2016 General Election when voters overwhelmingly approved adding an amendment to each state’s constitution that preserves the right to hunt.

Animal-rights activists on July 17 sued the state of Wisconsin over its 2015 Right to Hunt Act, claiming their rights are infringed by the act’s expansion of anti-hunter harassment laws and its explanation of what exactly “harassment” entails.
