The National Rifle Association’s award-winning free Hunter Education online course is now available in the State of North Carolina, the latest addition as NRA works to make the course available to hunters in all 50 states.

Outdoor Solutions is giving hunters the chance to win the ultimate outdoorsman package valued at more than $14,000.

In 1973, the NRA introduced a monthly magazine focused solely on hunting. At a time when existing publications tailored to a wide array of sporting endeavors, such a singular-focused publication was a gamble. But within a decade, American Hunter boasted a million subscribers.

In 1949, New York asked the National Rifle Association for help to improve hunter safety afield. The four-hour course that followed was a “pioneer effort” that has saved lives ever since. Today, no one can imagine American hunting without hunter education as a prudent rite of passage.

With media consumption and its influence at an all-time high, positive Hollywood-depictions of hunting may provide a way to introduce new hunters to our ranks.

With social distancing being the norm of the day, cabin fever is bound to set in. Several states have taken steps to encourage outdoor activities to help ward off these ill effects, namely waiving various fees and requirements associated with outdoor activities.
