In 2013, only weeks before the annual “Harrisburg show” was to begin, the event’s producer announced it had banned the sale or display of AR-style rifles. The sporting world was angered, and responded en masse to force a boycott. A year later, the NRA stepped in to rebrand the event the Great American Outdoor Show.

We interviewed AZGFD regional supervisor Larry Phoenix on the recent decision to ban the use of trail cameras on Arizona’s hunting grounds.

On June 11, 2021, the Arizona Game and Fish Department Commission voted unanimously to ban trail cameras “for the purpose of taking or aiding in the take of wildlife, or locating wildlife for the purpose of taking or aiding in the take of wildlife.”

The European Parliament voted favorably on Amendment 24 to the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, modifying language that could have been used to ban the trade and import of wildlife species legally hunted in Africa and elsewhere outside of the EU.
