A special congratulations to American Hunter/NRA-HLF Senior Editor Karen Mehall Phillips who received a Professional Outdoor Media Association’s (POMA) 2018 Outstanding Achievement Pinnacle Award in the “Conservation” category for her NRA Hunters’ Leadership Forum article, “Lying About Lions: Fake News Exposed as Hunters Fight Fiction with Facts.”

The NRA Hunters’ Leadership Forum has awarded a $50,000 challenge grant to the First Hunt Foundation to help establish the Hunting Heritage Endowment and provide for on-the-ground mentoring work.

The Boone and Crockett Club and the National Rifle Association’s Hunters’ Leadership Forum (HLF) are working together to develop an online education platform to teach hunter ethics.

As we celebrate the life of NRA HLF member Robert M. Lee (Oct. 2, 1927-Jan. 28, 2016), he forever will be remembered for his dedication to American freedom and to ensuring the NRA, firearms, hunting, shooting sports and wildlife conservation will remain at its core.

As part of the organization’s 150-year stewardship of shooting and hunting, the NRA in 2016 created the Hunters’ Leadership Forum to push against the demonization of hunting.

NRA Hunters’ Leadership Forum contributor Tim Flanigan of Bedford, Pa., received the Mason-Dixon Outdoor Writers Association’s (M-DOWA) First Place Talbot Denmead Memorial Award for “Best on Conservation and/or the Environment,” for “Who Really Cares About Conservation,” his article published at NRAHLF.org.
