Tetra Hearing was founded by two audiologists who knew that in the field, hunters need to hear sounds unique to their quarry, and to a lesser extent human conversation, but not much else—especially not gunfire. Their tinkering produced technology to improve a hunter’s hearing and protect it at the same time.

All shooters and hunters are aware they need hearing protection to help prevent hearing loss, with custom-fit products often representing the upper-end of this market. With this in mind, WildEar has debuted its own custom-fit hearing protection called EarzOn.

Designed to protect against the harsh sounds you may encounter on the farm, Tetra Hearing has introduced its Land Management Program as an add-on program for its Shield Series devices.

While firearm suppressors protect hunters’ and shooters’ hearing, their regulation under the National Firearms Act of 1934 requires buyers to fill out an application, pay a $200 tax and go through a time-consuming background check—and that’s in the 41 states that permit them.
