The oldest name in American firearms officially filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection March 25.

Although it won’t be formalized until approved at a hearing scheduled tomorrow (Tuesday, September 29) in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Alabama, the breakup plan for Remington was filed yesterday.

Clarus Corporation’s subsidiary Sierra Bullets, L.L.C., the Bulletsmiths, was selected to acquire certain assets relating to the Barnes Bullets brand of specialty hunting bullets in a chapter 11 bankruptcy auction process conducted by Remington Outdoor Company, Inc. and certain of its subsidiaries.

AG Composites, a veteran-owned manufacturer that uses modern design software to create Computer Aided Design (CAD) models and composite rifle stocks, has been selected to provide the stocks for the Remington Model 700 Alpha 1 bolt-action rifle.
