This week, Savage Arms introduced its RXR22, a rimfire it bills as a "rifle for all shooters." It's not hard to see why. With a reliable blowback action, a 16.5-inch precision button-rifled barrel, and a detachable 10-round rotary magazine that is interchangeable with Ruger 10/22 magazines, this is a rifle for both plinkers and dedicated squirrel hunters alike. The cross-compatibility doesn't stop there. If you're the sort who likes to upgrade your rifle, the RXR22 will accept 10/22-compatible triggers and barrels as well. For everyone else, however, the stock trigger breaks consistent and smooth, and the stock barrel is lights-out accurate.
