SITKA Impact Report Smalledel

Sitka Gear has released its first Conservation Impact Report, highlighting the firm’s portfolio of grants, conservation partnerships and the contributions each have made to ecosystem restoration and wildlife conservation. The company’s Ecosystem Grant Program has helped implement a range of initiatives that allow for the growth of the hunting experience through access and education, as well as creating opportunities for collaborative conservation.

The investments were made to aid national conservation efforts, as well as key, regional grassroots initiatives. The approach allows collaboration with partners at any scale and ensures national conservation efforts are well supported, along with the efforts of everyday stewards across the nation.

“We are excited to share the full picture of the work that Sitka has been doing in the conservation space for years, for the first time ever in this report,” said Lindsey Davis, director of conservation and advocacy for Sitka Gear. “Sitka has a unique perspective when it comes to its conservation investments. To design our gear systems, we think in terms of interconnected relationships and create innovative products that enable reconnection to the environment. Our conservation and grants work follows this same detailed thinking, and enables us to fund conservation work from a comprehensive ecosystem perspective. We hope this report shines a bright light on the work of our amazing partners, and look forward to building on our efforts and expanding collaborations across the industry to protect wildlife and their habitats.”

The Conservation Impact Report provides an overview of key areas of investment, highlighting those relationships and the educational films Sitka created to support projects. A few of the efforts that have benefitted from the grants include waterfowl conservation and flyway research, controlled burns and reseeding of natural plants and trees, outdoor skills education and more.

Sitka Gear, based in Bozeman, Mont., is a leader in technical hunting apparel and recognized for its commitment to improving the life experience of the hunter and for its support of healthy ecosystems and wildlife populations. The company is owned by W.L. Gore & Associates, an advanced materials company well known for Gore-Tex fabrics and other innovations for outdoor enthusiasts.
