Axe And Spire Hoodies

Nomad Outdoor announced a pair of new camouflage hoodies, the Spire and the Axe. Both hoodies are designed to help conceal whitetail and turkey hunters while also serving as casual wear around town.

Spire is a lightweight, half-zip style hoodie that’s great by itself in mild weather, or as a technical midlayer for the cold. Spire is made of a grid-pattern lofty fleece that helps trap warmth without requiring bulk. It has built-in stretch for easy movement, and the half-zip feature makes for on-and-off and adjustable breathability. The outer shell has DWR treatment to help repel water. It is available in both the recently reintroduced Mossy Oak New Break Up and Bottomland. MSRP: $120

The Axe hoodie is a traditional pull-over style with a large, pass-through hand-warmer pocket. Made of lightweight fleece, the Axe hoodie keeps you warm without being too heavy. It also has a DWR treatment to help shed early-season drizzle or fog. The Axe hoodie works by itself, or as an extra layer for cold weather. It is also available in both Mossy Oak New Breakup and Bottomland. MSRP: $75

Also available in the Axe line are matching gloves and a beanie, both designed for lightweight warmth during mid-season hunts. Both the gloves and beanie retail for $35 each.

Recipe: Deep-Rooted Venison Stew

Several friends and I often circle back to the same campfire debate about which wild game makes the best stew. It comes from the vegetables and mushrooms you choose.
