African Lion Goes Whitewater Rafting on a Hippo

posted on July 14, 2015

Who doesn’t appreciate a “free ride” when it comes to one’s meal ticket? But when it swam out to the hippo, the current was so strong the lion was stuck using the free meal as a life raft.

The lion fell off and got swept away several times, but it eventually made its way back onto the carcass, dug in with its claws, held on for dear life—and even managed to take a few tasty bites.
