NRA Gun of the Week: AirForce Texan Airgun

The powerful, big-bore "Texan" from AirForce Airguns features a two-stage trigger that releases a sizable burst of air from its 490cc removable and refillable air tank, driving .457-cal. projectiles in excess of 1000 fps. It's purported to be the most production air rifle on the market. But does that claim hold water? Find out with in the video embedded above, as American Rifleman's Christopher Olsen hosts the latest episode of NRA's Gun of the Week.

Introducing Swift High Grade

Big-game hunters seeking Swift Bullets in factory-loaded cartridges got a boost earlier this month with the formal unveiling of Swift High Grade Ammunition. Rather than relying on component sales or other ammo makers loading its projectiles, Swift wants to ensure that ready supply is there to meet demand for factory rounds bearing A-Frame, Scirocco II and new Break-Away Solid projectiles.

Late last year, our print edition featured Ron Spomer's "Rigby Returns," an ode to the revival of one of the rifle industry's most revered names. At SHOT Show 2016, we learned that Rigby was going retro, so to speak, for 2016. An even more "Classic" version of the company's .416 Bore for Big Game will be available to consumers.

Ask an Elk Outfitter

There are few experiences more challenging—and rewarding—than an elk hunt. In North America, at the least. That's why, in all likelihood, the western outfits were so slammed at the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pa. Our Editor in Chief, J. Scott Olmsted, stopped to discuss a few pointed big game topics with guides from throughout the west.

NRA Gun of the Week: Remington 7600 Pump-Action Rifle

Though not something you see everyday, pump-action rifles remain in production at a number of different companies—including Remington. Big Green is still building pump-action repeating rifles, and the 7600's modern machining and utility-driven design, paired with one of America's favorite deer cartridges, combines to create an excellent, if unorthodox, hunting firearm.

NRA Gun of the Week: Marlin 1895 GSBL Lever-Action Rifle

Built on the popular Model 336 action, the Marlin 1895 GSBL (Guide series, Stainless steel, Big-loop, Laminate stock) is chambered in .45-70 Govt. and features a full-length tubular magazine.

ARTV: Ruger SR-762

The "big brother" to the company's SR-556, Ruger's 7.62/.308 Win. chambered SR-762 has been well-received by the AR industry at large.
