Barrett, a manufacturer long known primarily for its .50-cal tactical rifles, branched into a whole new market in 2016 with the addition of the Sovereign line of double-barrel shotguns, and the Tennessee-based company has done it again this year with the introduction of the Fieldcraft, a lightweight, bolt-action hunting rifle.

Browning's A5 Sweet Sixteen combines the classic Humpback design with a shotshell that's long been hailed as the "Gentleman's Gauge."

We recently covered one of 2016's best values in the budget-friendly Stoeger P3000, which impressed our reviewer. It impressed consumers, too, because for 2017 Stoeger has announced the P3500—the same gun, essentially, just chambered for those big ol' 3½-inch shells.

Benelli kicked off its SHOT Show 2017 announcements by rolling out the latest iteration of its vaunted Super Black Eagle line.

It's safe to say that the Benelli ETHOS was well-received. Heck, we gave it a Golden Bullseye Award for Shotgun of the Year. So it wasn't much of a surprise when Benelli continued to flesh out the ETHOS line last year with the introduction of a 20-gauge variant. For 2016, the company took things a step further and releasing a 28-gauge ETHOS.

Savage Arms brought out the Model 42, a gun that, like the Model 24, combines the utility of .22 –cal. rifle and .410-bore shotgun, but with a composite stock and fore-end at an economical price.
