Arctic Cat, which was acquired last month by Textron Inc., will soon see its brand name changed to "Textron Off Road" in regards to side-by-sides and ATVs, per an announcement Textron made earlier this week at a select gathering of employees and dealer in Fort Worth, Texas.

The maker known for its electric vehicles is rebranded with a new gasoline-powered side-by-side ATV.

Sportsmobile of California has converted vans and built off-highway/backcountry vehicles since 1961. Its four-wheel drive, high-clearance vehicles span a broad spectrum of demands for utility and functionality from basic—“get into the backcountry and hunt”—to luxurious—“get into the backcountry, hunt and enjoy a full range of residential comforts.”

Taking utility to the next level, Kawasaki has introduced the latest in its line of Mule side-by-side vehicles, the Mule Pro-FXT.

In an ATV market that touts ever-larger side-by-side vehicles capable of hauling four humans and untold pounds of gear and game, many hunters still choose to use a four-wheeler. A four-wheeler is, after all, cheaper than a SxS. It is also easier to maneuver in tight spots, rides in a pickup bed and sits nicely in the back of a garage. Yamaha considered all this when it designed the 2019 Kodiak 450.

The newest addition to Yamaha's Viking series of SxS vehicles is a big deal, both figuratively and literally.

Textron Inc. has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Arctic Cat Inc. by means of a short-form merger under Minnesota law. As a result, Arctic Cat has become an indirect wholly owed subsidiary of Textron.
