Gander Mountain Announces Partnership with NRA

Outdoor retailer Gander Mountain has announced that it has entered into a partnership with NRA and will begin offering customers the opportunity to purchase NRA memberships in Gander Mountain locations. The partnership will begin in Gander Mountain stores in Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota.

Ruling on Great Lakes Wolves a Starting Point for State Management

On Aug. 1, the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C., handed down its 54-page ruling on Great Lakes wolves: Gray wolves will remain protected under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and state management will not be allowed. While the ruling doesn’t immediately remove federal protections from wolves in the Western Great Lakes states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota, the court’s decision regarding the important issue of a “distinct population segment” (DPS) is a win for sportsmen.

Grouse Hunter Shoots, Kills Wolf at 8 Yards

A hunter was pursuing ruffed grouse with his bird dog near Park Rapids, Minn., when all heck broke loose. There was a commotion, and the dog ran back toward the hunter with a wolf hot on its heels.

Federal Premium Hosts Outdoor Mentor Summit
