After months of rumor and speculation, Bass Pro Shops has announced it will acquire longtime competitor Cabela’s for about $5.5 billion, which equates to $65.50 per share. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2017, subject to the customary conditions and review.
Cabela’s couldn’t get enough ammo in stock to feed the needs of its customers so it sought out alternate supplies. After meeting with manufacturers worldwide, Cabela’s chose operations in the Czech Republic, Italy and Russia to load rifle, handgun and shotgun ammunition to its specifications. And the Herter’s Select Grade line was born.
Cabela's has announced that the 2014 edition of its "NRA Weekend" event will be hosted by the company's retail locations this coming weekend, Sept. 13 and 14, respectively. All new and current NRA members who join or renew their membership during NRA Weekend will receive a $25 Cabela’s gift certificate.
Honoring exemplary leadership in the hunting arena, the inaugural award marks more than 50 years of the Cabela family’s influence, dedication and support.
