The National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW) has named Hornady Manufacturing the 2016 Ammunition Manufacturer of the Year.

For the sixth year in a row—every year since the award was introduced—Leupold & Stevens, Inc., has been named the Optics Manufacturer of the Year by the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW). The award was presented during the annual NASGW annual meeting, which this year is taking place in Kansas City, Mo.

Barrett, a manufacturer long known primarily for its .50-cal tactical rifles, branched into a whole new market in 2016 with the addition of the Sovereign line of double-barrel shotguns, and the Tennessee-based company has done it again this year with the introduction of the Fieldcraft, a lightweight, bolt-action hunting rifle.

For more than 200 years, J.P. Sauer & Sohn has manufactured premium-tier rifles and shotguns—at premium tier prices. Fortunately the German manufacturer saw fit to provide the American market with a high-quality, bolt-action rifle that will maintain its heritage over time at a price U.S. consumers can appreciate.

Although American Hunters may not be familiar with Lithgow Arms, the manufacturer has been making firearms in Australia since 1912. Now, Legacy Sports International imports three Lithgow models—the LA101 Crossover rimfire, LA102 Crossover centerfire sporter and LA105 long-range precision rifle—to the United States.

Offering accuracy, dependability, modularity and value, the Ruger Precision Rifle has been steadily flying off shelves since its summer 2015 introduction. More recently, the manufacturer has announced that an advanced version of the platform is already on the way. The Ruger Precision Rifle "Enhanced" model will be available soon. It features a few small changes to the design that should leave it even more intriguing to long-range-shooting enthusiasts.
