For the 144th NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits, SIG rolled out a new addition to its ammunition line, and one hunters might find handy: 300 Blackout Supersonic Elite Performance Ammunition Match Grade Centerfire Cartridges.

Ruger has announced the second addition to its AR-556 Pistol line, chambered in .300 AAC Blackout.

Success of the AR platform with the consumer market led to the birth of a cartridge that utilizes a .30-cal. bullet and is designed for use with AR-15-style rifles and pistols, the .300 Blackout. SIG Sauer, for one, has met the growing .30-cal. demand, developing a line of rifles dedicated to .300 Blackout. Meet the SIGM400 Predator.

Winchester has expanded its popular Deer Season XP line. For 2016, three new calibers will be entering the fray: .30-30 Win., 7mm-08 and .300 Blackout.

Chambered in .300 Blackout, the new MSR 15 Blackout from Savage Arms uses a pistol-length gas system, allowing users to utilize suppressors and reliably cycle subsonic ammunition without adding length and weight.

If a new rifle cartridge is not supported by one of the main ammunition manufacturers, it doesn’t seem to get much traction. This is unfortunate, specifically in the case of the .25-45 Sharps, because it provides an easy-to-obtain ballistic advantage over the two most popular AR-15 chamberings: the .223 Rem. and the .300 Blackout.

American Hunter Assistant Editor Jon Draper recently set out to test a new Barnes bullet designed for the AAC .300 Blackout. His target? Black bear located at the Jicarilla Apache Nation near Dulce, N.M. Keep your eyes peeled for this new 120-grain bullet in this caliber, which should be available early 2014.
