After a long stretch of backorders driven by global demand, Beretta USA has announced the return to availability of the Manurhin .357 Magnum revolvers. With a hard-charging chambering and legendary durability in the field, hunters in need of a good bear defense sidearm should take note.

Manufactured in France by Chapuis Armes, a world leader in precision firearms, the MR73 was originally developed for elite French counterterrorism and law enforcement units, most notably GIGN and RAID. It is built for uncompromising performance in all settings.

Now available in the U.S. through Beretta, the following MR73 models are back in stock:

  • MR73 Gendarmerie 3"
  • MR73 Sport 3"
  • MR73 Sport 4"
  • MR73 Sport 5.75" Heavy Barrel
  • MR73 Sport 6"
  • MR73 Sport 8"

Each MR73 is built using forged ordnance-certified steel, cold-hammer-forged barrels and precision-machined 5-axis CNC technology, then hand-fitted and hand-polished by master gunsmiths to exacting standards. The MR73’s signature double-action trigger system features a fully adjustable trigger weight, widely praised for being the smoothest in the world. Every revolver is individually proof-tested at pressures 30-percent higher than CIP specifications and accuracy-tested at 15 to 25 meters, with Match models shipping with a test target ensuring no group exceeds 0.8" with selected ammo.

“The Manurhin MR73 is not just a revolver, it’s a mechanical masterpiece as both an heirloom grade piece and a true range workhorse,” said Ben Grundwerg, product manager of Special Projects and ProShop at Beretta USA. “With our new inventory ready to ship, we’re thrilled to once again offer American shooters access to this iconic firearm.”
