First Look: Crimson Trace CSA-2309 2-Series Sport Riflescope

Well-known for its laser sights and lights, Crimson Trace is now offering a full riflescope line. The line includes multiple Sport and Tactical models in three series, ranging in magnification and objective size from the 2-Series 1X-4X-24mm CTA-2104 to the 5-Series 3X-24X-56mm CTL-5324. All have fully-multi-coated Japanese ED glass, an illuminated reticle, and waterproof, fog-proof and shock-proof construction. They are built on single-piece, Type 3 hard-anodized, 6061-T6 aluminum tubes. Six models have 34mm tubes, while five have 30mm tubes.

The 3X-9X-40mm CSA-2309 2-Series Sport is built on a 30mm one-piece aluminum maintube, and offers a host of features that hunters will appreciate such as zero-resettable turrets, an illuminated reticle with 11 settings and a first-focal-plane MOA-based holdover reticle. Additionally, numerous windage holding points allow for on the quick adjustments during changing environmental conditions.

Clarity is enhanced with ED glass and fully multi-coated lenses, and the CSA-2309 offers 3.15 inches of eye relief and provides a field of view of 43.5 feet at 1,000 yards. The CSA-2309 is nitrogen purged for continued reliability and weighs 19.9 ounces.

The illumination runs off a CR2032 battery, which is covered under the company’s “Free Batteries for Life” program. All new Crimson Trace riflescopes are equipped with flip-up caps on the ocular and objective lenses to protect the glass and help keep the riflescope clean
