It’s hard to beat a predator hunt at the Clear Fork Ranch in Texas, considering the array of species available for the taking. We were welcomed by the staff and guides, and accommodations were top-notch.
Several of us brought home the bacon after filling our portion of two sows per person. The .224 Valkyrie dropped this one in a single shot at 100 yards and provided a large portion of the 110 lbs. of pork I packed home.
As many of us hunting as there were, there was no shortage of pork to go around, and we were able to sample some of our bounty. The Camp Chef SmokePro SG Pellet Grill allowed us to smoke some awesome hard-earned pork on-site.
Assistant Editor Connor McKibbin recently had the opportunity to join Federal Premium, Savage Arms and Bushnell in Texas to test Federal’s new .224 Valkyrie cartridge—the world’s first cartridge to remain supersonic at 1300 yards, designed specifically for AR-15s. You can get an inside look at his trip in the photo gallery above.
