Mossberg has expanded its SA line of autoloading shotguns, to include the soft-shooting .410 bore. The new Mossberg International SA-410 shotguns include the SA-410 Turkey, fully camouflaged in Mossy Oak Original Bottomland, and the SA-410 Field version with a black synthetic stock and fore-end, and are both now available for purchase.

With a gas operating system that vents excess gases, reducing recoil and stress on components, the 6.5-lb. SA-410 boasts a 3-inch chamber and a five-round total capacity. Housed in a classically-styled synthetic stock and forend, the SA-410 features a 26-inch vent-rib barrel, with the flexibility afforded by an interchangeable choke-tube system. A cross-bolt safety and easy-load elevator round out the standard features of this autoloading scattergun.

As for the SA-410 Turkey, aside from the aforementioned camouflage finish, the gun boasts an XX-Full Extended Turkey choke tube, to produce dense, uniform patterns. Sighting in low-light is aided by the combination of a fiber-optic front sight, and an adjustable ghost ring rear. If optics are desired, a receiver-mounted rail is standard.

The SA-410 Field, meanwhile, is equipped with a Sport Set of choke tubes (Full; Improved Modified; Modified; Improved Cylinder; and Cylinder), a front-bead sight and a matte-blue metal finish.

The SA-410 Field has an MSRP of $616, while the SA-410 Turkey has an MSRP of $735. For more information, visit mossberg.com.

Alligator Hunting Opportunities Are Expanding

This year, both Florida and Louisiana are expanding or introducing new opportunities for alligator hunts. For decades, Florida has estimated that there are over one million in the state—it is, of course, hard to count alligators. Louisiana now says its alligator population exceeds three million. The two states have managed their alligator populations very differently over the last half century, but now both are expanding hunting opportunities to help manage alligator populations.
