Beretta USA has announced that its new 486 side-by-side, designed by Marc Newson, will be reaching American shores on the heels of a successful European launch.

The new 486 is designed to be a respectful re-interpretation of the traditional side-by-side with an innovative technological solution: the wooden bridge. With the new design, the safety catch is no longer a remote mechanism on the end of the receiver, but set into the high-grade walnut, much like a bridge.

The shotgun's engraving, which is being done through a high-technology laser, features dragons in an homage to Asia—homeland of one of the world's most traditional game birds, the pheasant.

The 486 Shotgun by Marc Newson will be sold through the Beretta Galleries located in New York and Dallas, as well as at Beretta Premium Dealers.
