NRA Gun of the Week: Savage Model 42 Takedown Rifle/Shotgun
Savage Arms brought out the Model 42, a gun that, like the Model 24, combines the utility of .22 –cal. rifle and .410-bore shotgun, but with a composite stock and fore-end at an economical price. I Have This Old Gun: Winchester Model 24
Winchester's Model 24 double-barrel shotgun was introduced in 1939, just prior to the U.S. entering World War II, when most minds were not on sporting guns. Only about 116,000 of them were manufactured before it was discontinued from the Winchester catalog in the late 1950s.
