Faced with an increasingly large population of feral cats, the city council of Sylvania, Ohio, has voted unanimously to ban feeding them.

HSUS is helping petition Michigan to repeal a law that has opened up wolf hunting in the state's northern most regions.

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) owes everything, from its occasional victories to its very existence, to lying. Consider the following: It has built up a huge war chest to push anti-hunting legislation and lawsuits by convincing donors it's affiliated with similarly named animal shelters (in reality HSUS donates just 1 percent of its budget to shelters). It led Michigan voters to confuse mourning doves with white doves. It has fought to ban the breeding of hunting dogs by lumping reputable kennels in with puppy mills.

Despite being significantly outnumbered by supporters of groups like the HSUS, hunters rallied in the Big Apple to support the motion that "Hunters Conserve Wildlife."

As we enjoy the season of giving, charities seem to come out of the woodwork. But with predatory charities such as the Humane Society of the United States also in the mix, be sure to research any organization before you give.

According to today's HumaneWatch.org ad in USA Today, the Humane Society of the United States puts more money into its pension plan than it ever gives to pet shelters!
