The 2021-22 Federal Duck Stamp goes on sale Friday, June 25. The stamps, which cost $25 and raise about $40 million for conservation annually, are valid from July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022.

When Captain Bob Wetherald, owner of the Mid River Guide Service, invites me to go hunting, I drop everything. He's arguably the Potomac River's best seaduck and diver guide, and the spread of smoked duck breast and spirits he puts out for the post-hunt social hour are alone worth the trip.

Based on this year's record-breaking duck population survey, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) has once again proposed liberal season lengths and bag limits for the 2014-2015 season.

The USFWS announced the theme "celebrating our waterfowl hunting heritage," for the 2019-20 Federal Duck Stamp contest. Artists will be required to include in their entry one or more visual elements that reflect the contributions waterfowl hunters make to habitat conservation.

Feel free to get excited, waterfowlers. With just two months until early teal seasons open, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s annual population survey indicates that the duck population is looking good.

The winning artist in each contest receives a $2,000 award and winning artwork is used to produce collector's stamps and other promotional items with sale proceeds benefitting Oregon's fish, wildlife and their habitats.
