Springfield Model 2020 Boundary Lead

Springfield Armory has announced the release of its new Model 2020 Boundary, a carbon fiber-stocked bolt-action rifle that offers the sleek lines of a classic hunting rifle with premium, modern features.

Manufactured in Geneseo, Ill., the new Boundary was combines classic and traditional styling with the benefits of cutting-edge performance and modern materials.

The rifle features a patent-pending, one-piece hinged floorplate bottom metal design that is compatible with Model 700 receivers which eliminates fitment and complexity issues by combining the box and the bottom metal, resulting in one universal bottom metal setup for short-action calibers. The PRC and non-PRC long-action chamberings use the same bottom metal and have two follower lengths and an added spacer that fills the area left by the shorter follower.

The heart of the Boundary is Springfield’s Model 2020 action, precision manufactured from premium materials. It features dual locking lugs on a fluted bolt that runs smoothly down EDM raceways for perfect, repeatable engagement. In addition, the Boundary’s TriggerTech Field trigger—which is adjustable from 2.5 to 5 pounds—boasts a low-profile, non-snag safety and employs Frictionless Release Technology for a smooth pull.

The Boundary is available with either a BSF carbon-fiber or a traditional fluted stainless-steel barrel. The BSF barrel of the Model 2020 Boundary is jacketed in a roll-wrapped carbon fiber sleeve and loaded under tension, meaning 95 percent of the carbon fiber sleeve doesn’t contact the barrel. Offered in short- and long-action configurations, the rifle is available in .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, .300 PRC, .300 Win. Mag., 7mm Rem. Mag. and 7mm PRC.

The barreled action on the Model 2020 Boundary is precisely fitted to the 100 percent carbon fiber AG Sportsman stock, featuring hand-painted Rogue camouflage. It boasts a 13.5-inch length of pull, along with two QD cups and a 1-inch Pachmayr Decelerator Pad for enhanced shooting comfort.

“The Model 2020 family of rifles has established itself as a pre-eminent option for the serious hunter who demands the best,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “With the addition of the Boundary to the Model 2020 line, hunters have a new option that combines the appeal of a traditionally configured hunting rifle with the benefits of cutting-edge performance.”

Springfield says the Model 2020 Boundary was designed to consistently deliver the accuracy expected from a custom-grade rifle. Accordingly, the company stands behind the rifle with a rock-solid .75 MOA accuracy guarantee for a three-shot group at 100 yards with quality match-grade factory ammunition in the hands of a skilled shooter.

Purchasers of a Model 2020 Boundary can take advantage of the “Gear Up with the Model 2020” program. Any Boundary purchased between now and Dec. 31, 2024, will entitle the owner to receive a free Model 2020 Rimfire Target Rifle (BART92022B), a $434 value. MSRP of the Model 2020 Boundary ranges from $2,173 to $2,599.
