First Look: Weatherby 18i Semi-Auto Shotgun Line

The first firearms to be launched from the Weatherby headquarters in Sheridan, Wyo., the new semi-auto, Italian-made 18i shotgun line consists of three 12-gauge offerings with class, wing shooting, and dependability in mind.

Available now through distributors across the country, the Weatherby 18i semi-auto shotgun series is built on a reliable inertia-operated action that should have no problem cycling light sporting loads as well as hi-brass game loads. The durable receiver is built from a one-piece of billet aluminum and models currently consist of three variants; the elegant Weatherby 18i Deluxe, the 18i Synthetic and the 18i Waterfowler.

“As we finalize our transition to Sheridan, Wyo., Weatherby is excited to announce our brand new Italian made inertia-driven shotgun product line.  This is the first of many new items to be launched from our new home in Wyoming,” said Adam Weatherby.

The 18i Deluxe is a 12-gauge shotgun with a 3-inch chamber and a 28-inch, high-gloss, blued barrel. It sports a classy engraved nickel receiver and beautiful European Walnut furniture. Suggested retail price is $1,899.

The 18i Synthetic 12-gauge shotgun is the first shotgun from the company with a 3.5-inch chambering. It wears a black polymer stock with soft-touch finish on the cheek rest and aggressive texturing on the fore-end and palm. Suggested retail price is $1,099.

The 12-gauge 18i Waterfowler, also with a 3.5 Super Magnum chamber, wears a RealTree Max 5 camo dip on its synthetic stock, action and 28-inch barrel. The company says more camouflage pattern options will be coming soon. Suggested retail price is $1,199.
