Animals have the darnedest habit of turning up in the worst possible places—except when you're hunting them, naturally—and this week's NASCAR-loving critter in Tennessee is no exception. Camping World Truck Series practice at Bristol Motor Speedway was temporarily shut down on Wednesday, August 19, when a rabbit turned up on the track and refused to leave.

The little bugger was spotted during the final practice for the weekend's Truck Series race. Officials called a stop to the proceedings, a move meant to protect furred creatures and drivers alike. The rabbit's predicament was obvious, and it's not hard to imagine how making roadkill of a hare at high speeds could cause issues for a driver.

It was when the folks in charge tried to catch the intruder, however, that things got fun. Armed with a bucket and more apprehension than one should really have, dealing with a rabbit and all, track officials tried and failed to capture their prey. Pardon the pun, but the little guy just rabbited, eventually scurrying off to places unknown in the track infield.

Fortunately for us, NASCAR caught the whole thing on camera. The video is embedded above. Check it out and offer your own rabbit-catching ideologies in the comments section below.
