Women Outpace Men As New Hunters

Despite the overall numbers of hunters decreasing slighty from 2008 to 2009, women-hunters are on the rise!

The Summary: According to a report by the National Sporting Goods Association, the number of women who donned a gun or bow and took to the outdoors in pursuit of wild game climbed 5.4 percent, or 160,000 women, between 2008 and 2009.

Jeff’s Take: This is one positive trend in a year where hunters on the whole decreased .05 percent. But I’ll welcome the good news, and welcome the fresh faces to the outdoors, even if they are covered in camo paint!

The Request: Please send us a pictures of your favorite huntress in the woods. (Tasteful pictures only, please.)

Recommended Gear: Women's hunting clothing from Cabela’s, Prois women's gear; also check out NRA’s Women On Target for women-only hunt opportunities.

Alternate Headline:  You Gotta’ Love Those Lady Hunters!
