Meet a Dog with World-Record Ears

As a Denver Post writer quipped, here's a dog that's "all ears." In fact, owner Jennifer Wert of Boulder, Colo., says Harbor, an 8-year-old black and tan coonhound, had to grow into them.

"When he was 9 months old, he was sitting in his crate and his ears were hanging down over his paws," Wert said.

The poor pup would even trip over his ears and fall down stairs, but at least Harbor is finally getting some recognition for his troubles: Guinness World Records has bestowed upon him the title of "longest ears on a living dog."

Harbor's left ear measures 12.25 inches and his right is 13.5 inches. However, the longest ears ever recorded belong to Tigger, a bloodhound from Illinois who went to doggy heaven in 2009. His left ear was 13.5 inches and his right was 13.75.
