Montana Rifle Company Offers Pick of Litter at NRA Show

Litter in this case, of course, refers to new hunting rifles—not hunting pups—starting with offerings from the Montana Rifle Company in Booth No. 1557!

With the motto “Your Rifle, Your Adventure, Your Legacy,” the Montana Rifle Company says the sky is the limit on barrel, stock, caliber and action options as it draws crowds on the NRA show floor. The icing on the cake? The rifle maker offers models in both left- and right-handed versions—a big bonus for us lefties who are often overlooked.

Scanning the Montana Rifles on display, I pondered stainless vs. a blued barrel; American black walnut vs. a synthetic stock; and long action vs. a short or PH action with calibers up to 505 Gibbs. As I thought about the Africa hunt my husband and I are going on this summer, while most of it will be with a bow, I’ll never pull enough weight to hunt a hippo so Montana Rifle’s 458 Lott with a flash-break on the muzzle could be the ticket, considering it would feel more like I was shooting a .308!

And that’s just at one booth!  So many guns, so little time! Good thing the show doesn’t close until Sunday at 5 p.m.!
