i am debating on buying the scout vs the apex in 35 whelen. does the scout feel like a kid gun like the handi rifle?

Have been fishing there annualy for the last 21 years and they have great walleye & pike fishing. In the spring, when I go, the bear hunters are almost 100% succesful. This past fall (2020)the lodge shot 26 bull moose, so the hunting is great also.
