Video: Rigby's "New" Big Game Rifle

Late last year, our print edition featured Ron Spomer's "Rigby Returns," an ode to the revival of one of the rifle industry's most revered names. As Ron put it, "John Rigby & Co. of London is reborn. After changing ownership several times, including twice in the United States, Rigby is resettled in its former city and again building its iconic, bolt-action, repeating “magazine rifle”: the Rigby Special .416 Bore for Big Game. Every rifle is being made with genuine German Mauser Model 98 barreled actions, just as they were more than a century ago."

At SHOT Show 2016, we learned that Rigby was going retro, so to speak, for 2016. An even more "Classic" version of the company's .416 Bore for Big Game will be available to consumers. Our Editor in Chief, J. Scott Olmsted, had a chance to see the new rifle firsthand at Industry Day at the Range. You can get an inside look at the encounter using the video embedded above.
