Despite the fact hunters are the greatest source of revenue for the great outdoors, we still face restrictions on Sunday hunting in 11 states. The NRA-ILA continues to push for standardized regulations every day of the week to protect our right to hunt and our ability to affect conservation goals.

Historic legislation passed in Pennsylvania allowing hunters to pursue game on specific Sundays. But the road to get there was littered with its fair share of hurdles. We learned firsthand what had to happen to make Sunday hunting a reality for Keystone State sportsmen.

Thanks to the 2019 enactment of Sunday hunting legislation, Senate Bill 147, hunters may take part in America’s oldest tradition seven days a week.

On November 27, governor Tom Wolf signed Senate Bill 147 into law, allowing hunting on three Sundays each calendar year; one during the deer rifle season, one during the deer archery season and another to be determined by the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

Gov. Jim Justice has signed SB 451 into law, expanding Sunday hunting on all public lands in West Virginia.

Sunday Hunting Pushed in NC, PA; Apprentice Hunting Program Grows to 38 States; Bans on Ivory Sales Blocked in 15 States

NRA-ILA has hunters’ backs as it works to pass Sunday hunting legislation in two Eastern states.

NRA-ILA was front and center in securing support for Sunday hunting at the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Feb. 7-15.

The Virginia House of Delegates has voted 71-27 to pass a bill that would repeal the ban on Sunday hunting.
