Kyle Wintersteen say the Vinci is the fastest shotgun to break down, but is he prepared for a showdown?

The Claim
In the September, 2009 issue of American Hunter, Senior Associate Editor Kyle Wintersteen raves about how easy the $1,400 Benelli Vinci is to disassemble for cleaning. On Benelli’s website, the company says the same thing: “And, its modular design makes Vinci the easiest shotgun on the planet to assemble and disassemble.”

In fact, Benelli offers a gift package to any shooter who takes the "Vinci Challenge." But besides the fact that I've never been in all that big a hurry to clean a gun,  I've never had any problems disassembling my original Super Black Eagle; I can break it down faster than a used Yugo. I mean, I’ve been in plenty of races to see who can shoot a limit of doves the quickest, who can filet a bass the fastest and a even who can drive a 4x4 through a mudpuddle in the shortest order, but it’s never struck me as that important to see how fast you can break down a gun. But whatever, I get tired of Wintersteen’s poppycock.

While both guns are simple to breakdown, I'll bet a box of Winchester turkey loads that I can render my SBE into four parts faster than Wintersteen can his beloved Vinci.

The Challenge
There’s only one way to test such acts of speed, and it’s head to head. Mano e. Man. The Vinci Kid against the Black Eagle Boy. Check out the video to see the winner.

Hey guys, speed in disassembling a firearm is only important in the military...but my son, a marine, can disassemble a 252 Bushmaster chain gun in 3 minutes, in the dark, under the illumination of glow sticks, no less. Barrel itself weighs 109 lbs, receiver 40lbs and feeder 35 lbs. He'll go head-to-head with you guys any day. heh.
