I've met a lot of hunters in my day that were in need of "basic training" in one way or another. I'm sure you have too. Turns out our friends at W.L. Gore have decided to offer just that to hunters in the Fort Campbell, Ky., area next month. No, this isn't a hunter's safety course or a "Hunting for Dummies" seminar, it's a free event that will feature testing of the Gore's advanced new Optifade hunting gear. They'll also be setting up meet and greets with hunting experts to help participants better understand the science of concealment. Gore is opening this event to all civilian and military hunters. When: Saturday, October 2, 2010, from 10:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Where: Eagles Rest Pavilion Who: A meet and greet with Warren Strickland, one of the nation’s top bow hunters, recognized as an authority on "Wilderness Medicine and Outdoor Survival" will be held during the event. Attendees will also be treated to a Q&A with the inventor of digital camouflage for the U.S. military, Lt. Col Tim O’Neill (U.S. Army Ret). If anyone makes it out to the event be sure to play reporter, and let us all know what you learned. I have hunted in Optifade over the past two years and wouldn't trade it for the world. Until next time, good shooting.
