Streamlight Releases Siege LED Lantern

The new Siege LED lantern from Streamlight is rugged enough to withstand the great outdoors, providing a multitude of light modes.

Streamlight Inc. has announced the release of the Siege LED lantern. This cordless, alkaline battery-powered LED lantern is rugged enough to withstand the great outdoors and is designed for a multitude of lighting uses. The Siege is easy to carry and provides 360 degrees of soft light. After removing the cover the lantern can illuminate large areas. The lantern features four white C4 LEDs and one red C4 LED to preserve night vision, offering users five different output modes. Modes include high, medium, low and a red emergency SOS signal.

Without the cover, the four white C4 LEDs provide 340 lumens on high, 175 on medium and 33 on low. Each white LED features a 50,000 hour lifetime. The white LEDs will run for 30 hours on high, 70 on medium and 12 on low. The red LED runs for almost 10 days on high and the SOS signal runs for more than 17 days. The Siege uses three D size alkaline batteries, and features a battery-life indicator. The casing is made with tough polycarbonate thermoplastic with elastomer overmold and features unbreakable polycarbonate lenses. Available in coyote, The Siege has an MSRP of $60.

Don't run that baby on low, you will burn out your batteries in one night according to the article. Could it be the real figure is 120 hours on low? I know a joke about three dots but I don't know one about a missing zero.
