NSSF: Hunting with Guns Safer Than Football, Golf

According to data complied by the NSSF, hunting with firearms is actually far more than safe than other popular sports like tackle football and soccer.

According to data complied by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), hunting with firearms is actually far more than safe than other popular sports like golf, tackle football and soccer. The data revealed that hunting ranked third in safety when compared to 28 other sports.

Hunting with firearms has an injury rate of .05 percent, equaling roughly one injury per 2,000 participants.

Last year, 16.3 million hunters went afield in this country, and 8,122 sustained injuries. More than 6,000 of those injuries were tree-stand related.

Todd... 16.3 MILLION Please read the article again. The stat of 75% of the injuries were tree-stand related should be a good reason to stay on the ground!!
