A new study by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) revealed that last year, 11 million meals were donated to the needy by U.S. hunters, totaling over 2.8 million pounds of meat.

Venison was offered up to local to shelters, food banks and church kitchens, with the most donations given in southern and midwestern states.
